Annalesa’s 3rd Birthday!
Posted on April 27, 2009 - Filed Under Family Stuff
On Earth Day, our little princess Annalesa turned three years old. We opened family gifts in the morning, and had a party with friends in the afternoon (it turned out to be 94 degrees during the festivities). We had a large blow-up bouncy house, sprinkler, homemade popsicles, froggy cupcakes, and we made pine cone bird feeders and little greenhouses in soda bottles. Anna had a great time.
We love you Annalesa!
Social Networking and Privacy Law
Posted on April 27, 2009 - Filed Under Law, Random Thoughts
Just a few weeks ago, a California appeals court ruled that what gets posted on social networking sites is not as private as many might think. It’s really not that novel of an idea, but i doubt many who post on MySpace, Facebook, Twitter et al even think about it. Since I’ve noticed that many of us are on these sites (including Bruce and Jill and most of the younger family members), i thought this was something important to keep in mind (Jillian, read the article).
The young woman ranted about her hometown on MySpace. Her sister’s high school principal spitefully forwarded it to the town newspaper, which printed it in its letters section. The girl’s family got death threats, shots fired at their house, her dad’s shop was put out of business, and her family had to move out of fear for their safety.
The court found no invasion of privacy, because the posting was widely accessible online.
Think twice before you post your every thought on the internet. See the story here.
Wildlife Safari in Winston, Oregon

Way back in March we went to Oregon to visit family and were able to go to the Wildlife Safari with my grandma. We had a great time and Anna loved seeing all of the different animals. In the background of the first picture you will see a group of turkeys and an albino peacock.

Caden slept through most of it.

This emu stared us down as we were trying to leave. He takes his job seriously as a guard, nothing will get past him.

These next pictures are from a part of the village that we walked through. It was raining but the kids loved being able to run around and enjoy the wildlife.

We also went to the lambing barn in Corvallis. Anna and Caden had fun running around and seeing all the baby lambs that had been born recently. The barn contains sheep that are about to deliver (we weren’t lucky enough to see a birth), mothers, and lambs that are about a month old.

We have fallen behind on posting photos of the kids, so here’s the first of a couple of photo blogs to get us caught up:

The kids love playing with the chickens (at least as long as the roosters don’t attack them!):
